Carl Selles

Carl Selles is a 67-year-old marathon swimmer from Aurora, Colorado who competed in the 24-mile Tampa Bay Marathon Swim on 20 April 2013 and finished third in the 2014 Tampa Bay Marathon Swim in 14 hours 17 minutes. He set the record for the oldest person to complete the Tampa Bay Marathon Swim.

Selles also tackled the END-WET on 13 July 2013 in 7 hours 42 minutes, finishing 8th overall. Selles is a former college swimmer and history teacher who spends his summers in Colorado, but winters in St. Petersburg, Florida.

END-WET

The Extreme North Dakota Watersports Endurance Test or END-WET, is a 27-mile (43.4 km) mixed-sports event where solo and relay swimmers pit themselves against other endurance athletes down the Red River between Grand Forks, North Dakota and Oslo, Minnesota in the United States. It is one of the longest marathon swims in the world and directed by Andy Magness.
