The Bloody Big Swim & Grand Mornington Challenge is a 11.2 km and 1.2 km ocean swim in Mornington, Victoria, Australia held on 23 January 2016.

The Bloody Big Swim is a 11.2 km (6.95 mile) ocean swim held annually in Melbourne, Australia. The course is from Frankston Life Saving Club at the Frankston Pier to Mills Beach Mornington. It was first swum by Mark Cook, Tony Frey, Leon Cox, and Bruce Dixon and is now open as a solo marathon swim or a 2- or 4-person relay team effort.

Escorts[edit]

Swimmers are required to have a paddler and an escort boat for both safety and insurance reasons. All support boats must carry a Marine Radio type 27MHz or VHF including mandatory safety equipment for vessels more than 5 nautical miles from the mainland shore.
