Alan Hong was a long-time Parks and Recreation supervisor with the City & County of Honolulu who was largely responsible for in-water operations, including surveying the 2.4-mile course at the annual Waikiki Roughwater Swim and setting the turn buoys along the course on Oahu, Hawaii.
