Adrian O'Connor was a former footballer in Ireland who had a traumatic head injury as a result of an accident where he hit his head on the pavement. After a remarkably inspirational recovery where his spirits never wavered, he is now swimming freestyle and breaststroke as a form of rehabilitation.
He is a Sports Science graduate of University of Limerick. He was well-known locally and was a key player on the Castlegregory Gaelic football team in Kerry before his accident. He is now running marathons to the disbelief of his doctors and an inspiration to others.
