Vidösternsimmet is a 21 km marathon swim in Lake Vidöstern in Småland, Sweden traditionally held in August. The 2012 race will be held on 4 August.

It is Sweden's longest open water swimming competition that stretches from north of Osudden in Jönköping County to the Strait of Kronoberg in the south. The race is divided into five different legs between 2.8km and 5.5km where swimmers stopped for hydration and refueling. Wetsuits (optional) and orange-colored swimmer safety devices are used.
