Vertical kicking

verb - Vertical kicking is a swimming drill that can improve the efficiency of the freestyle or butterfly. Vertical kicking is performed in vertical position in the deep area of a swimming pool as the hands and arms are generally not used while the hips, legs and feet are generally exclusively used. It is one element of the concept of interleaving in the training of open water swimmers and triathletes.
