Aquaboomers with Dan Leonard (Captain), Tracy Edwards, Brad Magit, Bill Ireland, Bruce Thomas and Steve Lowe
Tracy Edwards was a member of the Aquaboomers, a world record-setting Catalina Channel relay team that also included Dan Leonard, Brad Magit, Bill Ireland, Bruce Thomas and Steve Lowe. The Southern California Aquatics (SCAQ) based team completed the crossing in 8 hours 8 minutes on October 12, 2011. Fellow SCAQ member Alicia Bentley was one of the kayakers. Their support team included two members of the Mighty Mermaids, Jenny Cook and Christie Plank Ciraulo.

The Aquaboomers broke the previous Catalina to mainland record for the men's 50-59 year age-group (10 hours 35 minutes) initially set on July 8, 2002 by the Swell Guys, who included Steve Dockstader, Donald Van Cleve, Chris Wagner, Bill Kehoe, Warren Haviland and Rich Henry.
