Swim for Hope
The Swim for Hope relay was a 6-man relay in 2002 that swam 60 miles (95.6 km) from San Clemente Island to the California mainland in 33 hours 8 minutes. It was the first relay team to establish this course.
The Swim for Hope was originally a solo marathon swim attempt by Scott Zornig along the 40-mile (63.7 km) coastline of Orange County in Southern California. The Swim for Hope has raised nearly US$500,000 over the past 10 years for the City of Hope's pediatric cancer research.
