noun- Santa Monica Bathing Society is a group of over 100 enthusiastic ocean swimmers from the Los Angeles area who frequently train off the shores of Santa Monica, California, U.S.A. and participate in open water swims from San Francisco to San Diego. They welcome other friends, open water swimmers and triathletes to their training sessions where swimmers can swim traditionally (i.e., no wetsuits) or with wetsuits. They swim year-round, do not take themselves too seriously, and always have a lot of fun.

On August 31, 2012, the team Just Keep Swimming, comprised of six members of the Santa Monica Bathing Society, successfully crossed the Catalina Channel as a relay.
