Randy Bennett, head coach of Swim Canada's national swimming team
Randy Bennett is the head coach of the Victoria Academy of Swimming since 2008 and the head coach of the Canadian national swimming team. He is also coach of Eric Hedlin who finished second at the 5 km race in the 2013 FINA World Championships in Barcelona, Spain on 20 July 2013, and Olympic medalist Ryan Cochrane and Hilary Caldwell who both brought home medals from the FINA World Championships in Barcelona. Bennett was awarded the Swim Canada's National, International and Open Water Coach of the Year.

He is also the director of Island Swimming and the head coach of VASC. Bennett has worked in a variety of coaching roles and positions and actually began his coaching career in Fort MacMurray, Alberta in 1982. Randy also spent 9 seasons coaching for the UBC dolphins with Tom Johnson. Acting as head coach for the Canadian national team since 2009, Randy has helped Canada achieve a large number of medal performances at international meets, such as Ryan Cochrane's bronze and silver medals in the 1500 freestyle in Beijing and London respectively.
