noun - Open Water Boot Camp is hosted by 24-mile Tampa Bay Marathon Swim founder and event director Ron Collins. The Open Water Boot Camp offers comprehensive, training sessions tailored to meet the needs of open water swimmers and triathletes. Qualifying swims for the English Channel or Manhattan Island Marathon Swim are possible in Florida during the winter. Temperatures at Clearwater Beach in January and February usually hover around 60 degrees F, so cold water acclimatization is possible. The camp can also serve as a qualifying swim for the English Channel or the Manhattan Island Marathon Swim. Private training sessions last 4 to 8 hours. Group sessions are also available.
