Miguel Vadillo is a Mexican open water swimmer who swam across Lake Ontario in August, 2010 and was nominated for the 2010 World Open Water Swimming Performance of the Year for his bone-chilling 18 hour 4 minute marathon swim. He became the 44th person to successfully conquer the lake while raising C$12,000 for swim and water safety programs in Ontario, trying to do something to avoid preventable drownings among young immigrants.

He is a Senior Designer at the Toronto Star.
