Melodee L. Nugent is a pool and open water swimmer and Biostatistician of Pediatrics at the Medical College of Wisconsin. The masters swimmer completed in the 27-mile (43 km) Extreme North Dakota Watersports Endurance Test (END-WET) in the Red River (Grand Forks, North Dakota, USA) on 21 July 2012 in 9 hours 23 minutes.

She was also one of the leaders of the 2012 Go The Distance program with U.S. Masters Swimming.

Open Water Swimming Career

Swim Across Lake Michigan

Nugent took part in the Swim Across Lake Michigan Team that swam from Ohio State Street in Chicago to Michigan across Lake Michigan on 20 August 2013 on a charity swim that raised US$110,000 to fund a significant research project at Rush University Cancer Center. The relay was part of the Swim Across America event, organized by Dave McClellan. Its members include David Sims, Bob Lewis, Mark Hauser, John Martin, Melodee Nugent, Ryan Foley, John Schoser, Sean Russell, Michelle Milne, Bill Lee, Dave McClellan, Kendra Robinson, Andrea Rudser-Rusin, Dan Cline, Kara Pellaton, Chip Gilbertson, Jim Sara, Michael Markman, Ellen Bintz Meuch, Stephanie Felber
