Liliana Casso

Liliana Casso is an American pool and open water swimmer from Team Santa Monica in Los Angeles, California. A student at the Marlborough School, she was named to the USA Swimming Junior National Open Water Swimming Team and will represent the United States in the 7.5 km event at the 2012 FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships in Welland, Ontario, Canada. She also won the 43rd annual Seal Beach Rough Water Swim in the 3-mile race in Seal Beach, California on 30 June 2012. At the age of 12, Casso represented Southern California at the North American Challenge Cup which pit teams from the U.S. against teams from Canada and Mexico.

Coached by Bruce Gemmell and Dave Kelsheimer, the USA Swimming Junior National Open Water Swimming Team will compete at the first FINA World Junior Open Water Swimming Championships held in 12-20 August 2012 in Welland, Ontario, Canada against swimmers from more than 30 nations, including Russia, Great Britain, Germany, Spain, Brazil, Argentina and South Africa. Casso will join Team Santa Monica teammates Brendan Casey and Jordan Wilimovsky in Canada.
