Jim Bayles

James M. Bayles is an American open water swimmer from Connecticut who is member of the Half Century Club as one of the oldest individuals to successfully swim across the English Channel. He swam from England to France as a 50-year-old in 10 hours 59 minutes in 2002. He attempted to swim across Lake Erie under the auspices of the Lake Erie Open Water Swimming Association (LEOWSA) and the World Open Water Swimming Association) (WOWSA) and helped organize the Cold Water Challenge.
