Jan Prins, Ph.D.
Jan Prins, Ph.D. is the founder and director of Swim Hawaii that offers swimming instruction at the University of Hawaii, Manoa campus, since 1986. Dr. Prins is the former University of Hawaii swim coach and an Associate Professor in Biomechanics at the University of Hawaii.

He is also the Director of Aquatic Research Laboratory, University of Hawaii, Manoa and was the Head Assistant Coach at Indiana University between 1975-1978 under the legendary Doc Counsilman. He was also the Head Varsity Men's Coach at the University of Hawaii between 1978-1987 where Hawaii placed in the top 10 at the U.S. Nationals and top 20 at NCAA Division I Championships.

Dr. Prins was also the Olympic Coach of Sri Lanka and the Paralympic Coach of the United States. He is the Editor-in-Chief, Journal of Swimming Research and a published author in Swimming & Aquatic Rehabilitation.
