Average sea surface temperatures between August 22-28, 2010. Canadian geography spans the coasts of Prince Edward Island, Nova Scotia, New Brunswick, and Quebec. US geography spans the coasts of Maine, New Hampshire, Massachusetts, Rhode Island, Connecticut, New York, and New Jersey.

Note that average sea surface temperature in the Northumberland Strait is close to the average sea surface temperature in the New York/New Jersey area.

Water in protected bays and estuaries is significantly warmer.
