noun - Disc light is a form of battery-powered illumination, generally green-colored, that is attached to an open water swimmer's goggle strap and can be seen up to 5 kilometers away during a night swim or in low visibility conditions in a channel swim or marathon swim. The light comes with two modes: flashing or steady-on.

The channel swimmer felt much more comfortable swimming at night with the disc light on.
