Deryk Snelling

Deryk Snelling is a Canadian swimming coach who placed 57 swimmers on Olympic teams and who won 19 Olympic medals. He was a Canadian Olympic swimming coach between 1972 and 1992. His swimmers also won 10 medals at World Swimming Championships, 38 medals at Pan American Games, 65 medals at Commonwealth Games, 27 medals at Pan Pacific Swimming Championships, and 417 individual and relay titles at Canadian National Championships.

He was coach at the University of Calgary, Dolphin Swim Club, Etobicoke Swim Club after his start as a British national swimmer and English champion.

Snelling wrote a well-received book, All About Individual Medley and was the Canadian Swim-Coach-of-the-Year four times, C.I.A.U.--University Coach-of-the-Year five times and is a recipient of the prestigious Order of Canada Award.

In addition to his coaching duties, he has been a featured guest at numerous clinics and symposiums across the world.
