Cristian Vergara is an open water swimmer from Chile and the USA who did the first two-way crossing of the 3-mile Beagle Channel from Argentina to Chile, together with Rachel Golub and Patricia Sener in 2010 in 4°C (38°F) without wetsuits. He also participated in the 2012 Russian Winter Swimming Championships in Tyumen, Russia and completed a crossing of the Strait of Magellan in Chile in 2009 together with Rachel Golub, Scott Lautman, and Mark Lautman.

Bering Strait Swim

Vergara was a member of the successful, unprecedented, 5-day Bering Strait Swim relay, a 53-mile (86 km) relay crossing from Cape Dezhnev in Chukotka, Russia, to Cape Prince of Wales in the state of Alaska, USA.
