Chris Barnard

Chris Barnard is a South African open water swimmer who was the first person in the world to complete the 7.6 km crossing between Blouberg Beach and Robben Island swimming butterfly in February 1990. He also set a South African record for the longest non-stop butterfly swim in an open body of water in April 1994 with a 15 km swim.
