The Channel Swimmers' Chat Group is part of the Channel Swimmers website and is a growing online forum that provides invaluable education and encouragement to those seeking to attempt the English Channel specifically and marathon swims in general. It was created and is managed by International Marathon Swimming Hall of Fame Honour Swimmer Nick Adams of London.

The Channel Swimmers' Chat Group was started in the summer of 2000, initially hosted with Smartgroups but it is now hosted with Google. Its primary aim is to keep swimming friends in touch with each other. Due to the international nature of Channel Swimming there is no Club Room or Social Evening, and email is the communication tool of choice.

This free service was nominated for the 2012 World Open Water Swimming Offering of the Year award.

2012 World Open Water Swimming Offering of the Year Nomination

Its nomination by the World Open Water Swimming Association reads, The Channel Swimmers' Chat Group is a growing online forum that provides invaluable education and encouragement to those seeking to attempt the English Channel specifically and marathon swims in general. The Channel Swimmers' Chat Group is a people-to-people service where questions are asked and expert (and sometimes humorous) insight and advice is immediately provided by experienced English Channel swimmers and marathon swimmers from around the world. It is a selfless effort to bring awareness to the Channel swimming community and support to those who wish to join one of the world's most exclusive clubs. A plethora of information, a wealth of advice, a global support group of passionate enthusiasts provide an online platform with the most comprehensive, practical and encouraging information possible. For their vision, sense of community, and selflessness to help others in the open water world, the Channel Swimmers' Chat Group is a worthy nominee for the 2012 WOWSA Open Water Swimming Offering of the Year.
