Oak Streeters, a pod in Laguna Beach, California, U.S.A. celebrating a birthday swim
noun - Birthday swim is a special open water swim or pool swimming workout set performed on one's birthday by a pod of swimmers, either in a pool or an open body of water. The birthday swims are typically difficult, long or unique.

In some cases in the pool, pods of adult swimmers do the same number of 100-yard or 100-meter swims as the age of the swimmer celebrating a birthday.

For his 49th birthday swim, they did 49 x 100's freestyle.
